ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Dan. Welcome to my blog! 

Too often and for so long, our careers define us.  We let our titles and promotions drive us.  How much we sell, how big our projects are, or how many people are on our team all build up our egos.  Over time, I cared more about making sure the clients got value, which translated to our company's success. It didn't, however, provide me any more long term financial security and only seemed to pull me in too many directions. 

Now, I would define myself as a entrepreneurial husband, father, salsero, woodworker, traveler, and work in progress.  Every day, my wife and I work to achieve our dreams of spending more time with our kids travelling to the four corners of the world and enjoying the experiences together.

I used to work as a Vice President with a global consulting firm that help large companies, usually in Oil & Gas and Engineering & Construction, to set up systems to run and improve all aspects of their company.  Over the last 17 years, I've been blessed to travel all over the country and the world working with amazing companies and learning so much along the way.   While it was great in many ways for personal/professional development, it was not good for my waistline or blood pressure.  Time away from the kids along with so many changes in the consulting industry caused a lot of stress, and I needed a change.

When we got married and we were planning for kids, we started to invest in real estate to ensure we could retire early.  Our lives were blessed in 2013 when we welcomed our amazing twins, Daniel & Abby; although this was a difficult and sleep-deprived time of our lives, it did not stop us from investing in real estate. We eventully grew to a total of seven single-family rental homes that were all rented long-term. In 2017, we bought two apartment complexes and embarked on an additional stream of income with our skincare business, helping women with their skin as well as helping people develop passive income streams.  Our focus on these endeavors has helped so many people feel better and more self confident.  In addition to the residual income, it has also helped people take MORE vacations, expand their friendships, and develop themselves personally and professionally.

In June of 2019 I started DHS Realty Group powered by Keller Williams Southwest.  After buying and selling many homes and commercial properties over the last several years and having the opportunity to really follow my passion around real estate and investing it made complete sense to join a global leader like Keller Williams.
